UNICEF - One Year Report - Wenchuan Earthquake Relief Efforts

Sichuan earthquake one year report - May 2009

One year after the Wenchuan earthquake, the response has shifted to recovery and reconstruction. Much work remains to be done, as survivors of the earthquake rebuild their lives and communities. Recovery and reconstruction programmes are anticipated to continue for an additional two years.

2nd Intl GIS Forum Niigata: Damage Assessment and Aftermath of the Great Wenchuan Quake

The GIS Center for Environment and Disaster Mitigation (Niigata University) sponsored a forum at Niigata, Japan, March 2nd 2009.

EERI and GEER report on the Wenchuan Earthquake

The Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) and the Geo-Engineering Earthquake Reconnaissance (GEER) Association carried out a field investigation in conjunction with Chinese colleagues from August 3-11 to document effects of the May 12 earthquake.

Reports of Unrest Near Baolin Over Missing Earthquake Relief Funds

Reports from the Information Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (Hong Kong), assert that unrest in the city of Baolin has resulted in clashes with government paramilitary troops. The situation is said to have unfolded in disputes over the availability of relief funds set aside for earthquake victims by the central government.
