In response to the earthquake which struck Chile on Feb 27th 2010, the Harvard Center for Geographic Analysis launched this web portal to provide GIS datasets for relief and reconstruction efforts.
The site was built on the model for the China Earthquake Geospatial Research Portal, funded by the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies.
All copyrights are retained by the original producers of the data, and downloads from this portal are for academic, non-commercial, relief and reconstruction efforts only.
If you have data to share, or need an upload point for inter-agency data exchange, please contact us:
See: General Overview of the earthquake on Wikipedia. A good description of the administrative geography of Chile is here.
